Thanks so much for the info. Good luck, I hope you find some answers.
Mine was done over the course of a couple months where I went there for an hour once a week. At first they put electrode things right outside my rectum and on the lowest part of my abdomen. There were a connected to a computer that showed how much I was contracting each of these muscles. They had me practice bearing down like I was trying to have a bowel movement. This was to make sure I was contracting my stomach muscles without contracting my rectal muscles. Then they had me practice contracting my rectal muscles (like I was trying to hold in a bowel movement) without contracting my stomach. We also worked on completely relaxing these muscles when I wasn't trying to do anything. Then we worked on different exercises to strength both of these muscles. We also worked on keeping all of my other muscles loose and relaxed and breathing correctly when trying to have a bowel movement. Then I used an internal sensor (a little rod thing I put up into my rectum), and practiced with that. Overall, it got me more in control of my muscles but didn't really help with my problems.
Thanks, Yes anything you can tell me would be helpful. I'm not sure if it's worth staying at a hotel for 2 weeks to go through the process..Big expense...
I've gone through pelvic floor dysfunction biofeedback training at Stanford Children's Hospital (Packard Hospital). It helped me somewhat to learn how to properly contract my muscles to have a bowel movement, but it didn't really change the amount of problems I was having. I'd be happy to describe what they did during it if you'd like.
