Pentasa vs. Entocort?

by crohnqueen, Dec 31, 2001 12:00AM
Hi there

I've had Crohn's for ten years now and am currently taking Pentasa - 16 pills a day. I had a bad flare up last year that was due a perforation in my intestine. I did two loooong sessions of Remicade. I had an allergic reaction so they had to administer it over the course of a few hours. Then a Methotrexate injection once a week for three months. Then on to Pentasa since I had had reactions to all other low dose meds. My reactions were dizziness and severe shortness of breath. My doctor was anti-Prednisone, which made me very happy, but I had to suffer the consequences of taking mass amounts of pills.

So anyway! I was just wondering if anyone out there is taking Entocort and if it is easier to take than Pentasa. Also, I'm interested to know what the side effects are.

Thanks!
Jes
