Anemia, your physician's answer was that the B-12 shots would take care of this pain - they never did, but antacids worked pretty well as long as I watched what I ate and didn't smoke or drink. I have had Pernicious
Anemia for 20 years. Over the past 5+ years the antacids no longer seem to be working, and I am in pretty severe stomach pain more often than not. I take 4 Prilosec each morning, on an empty stomach, as directed by the physician at my insurance company (as they will not pay for the "single pill, once a day" prescription antacids because apparently the 4 Prilosec equals the same treatment). Aside from this pain, I am in excellent condition, I feel great, I exercise 30-60 minutes 5 days a week, eat sensibly, have happy and healthy, social, work, and home environments; and my last physical, blood work, mammogram, pap
test, endoscope, and colonoscopy were less than a year ago, and everything came back fine. My Internist and GI Specialist have written several letters trying to get my insurance to pay for one of the stronger antacids, but that is clearly not going to happen. Soooooo, short-story-very-long, do you have any ideas on what I can try: over-the-counter, affordable prescription, home remedy, foods to eat or not eat, homeopathic, acupressure, acupuncture
