Hi, radiation can damage the mucosa and cause symptoms of diarrhea. But it is unlikely to cause pinworm infection. Anthelmintics, such as mebendazole, pyrantel pamoate, and albendazole, are active against Enterobius vermicularis (pin worm). Itching, irritation, and excoriation should be treated symptomatically. Reinfection with E vermicularis immediately after the completion of drug therapy is common. Additionally, young pinworms may be resistant to drugs. Successful eradication of pinworm infection requires at least 3 doses of medication, separated by 3 weeks. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Regards.
