They tried for 3 hours to get it to go through, but it just wouldn't, finally it did, but the barrium would go up a little and slip back down, this went on on the screen for 10 minutes until they finally gave up. After I got home that day from the small bowel series I have extreme cramping in my right lower abdomen area, I had been having this pain off and on but chaulked it up to my scar tissue pulling like I have been told before, twice during my laporoscopies in the early 90's my doctor had to detach my stomach from my uterus (i think those were the organs that were attached) I no longer have a gallbladder, it was removed in 2003. I have lost 15 lbs since thanksgiving, and continue to wkly, my blood work showed my potassium is very low 3.1., however, they do not know why it is low, I don't have diarreah. But when you have been living on crackers for 4 months, I dont know what else they expect really. Any help, suggestions, would be much apprectiated.
Desirees, to try to work with the ileocecal valve, look to someone well-trained in visceral manipulation - they may also be able to help you with adhesions. There's some interesting literature about the ileocecal valve (ICV) working with cadavers showing that there are a few key ligaments that hold the structure in place and in 'alignment.' When those ligaments were 'skewed' via partial or full severing - which malpositioned the valve - changes occured in the flow of fluids into the valve. When the ligaments were 'restored' via suturing and the ICV and the cecum where again correctly positioned, movement of chyme moved properly. In addition, if the cecum isn't 'filled' (volume-wise) it will not achieve stretch and forward propulsion of the contents.

thanks for your help, I go through the upper GI again tomorrow, but I really don't think they will see this big ucler that they think they will. the funny thing is the PA didn't even mention that the barruim wouldn't go through the ICV. So I don't know, all that I know is that I'm losing weight and not trying, not able to eat and my stomach hurts when I do eat. She did prescribe me Carafeate, which is a solution you drink right before you eat and it's suppose to work like a band aide. well it doesn't work. I am just exhausted all the time now, so I just don't know where to turn to next.
