Please help/advise

Hi,
I need some help please. I am 31yrs old male, south east asian (Indian living in USA) I have been having these symptoms from past 1 yr. I have been to internal medicine doc. from past 1 yr but could not find out the reason for these symptoms yet.
Last yr in October, I had started having rashes all over my body (mostly in the places where more pressure is put/felt) and also more fatigue. I went to a dermatologist and he after 2 visits asked for a blood test and found out that my thyriod level is low and I might be having Hypothyriod condition. So he asked me to contact an internal medicine doctor. Then I visited an internal medicine physician and he did some blood tests for TSH, T3 and T4 and said it is Hashimotos thyrioditis. And he started me with Levothyroxine 75mcg; For one month I was feeling very good, My fatigue was gone. But after 1 month, I had severe heart palpitations, acidity, gas, anxiety. I had to go to emergency fearing heart attack symtoms but found out that it might be acidic refluxes. So I was given antacids (Just to mention- I had acid refluxes - costocondritis a year before these symptoms) and I reduced my 75mcg dose to half of it and it helped me but my fatigue is back and rashes on my skin are also back. Now I am using 25mcg levothyroxine and still my thyriod level is normal. I had been having these symptoms of rashes, gas, chest pain, sore ribs, a feeling of something in my throat, bloated stomach, ocassional constipation, weak upper body and limbs, and anxiety sometimes. And I feel as if my heart beat or something in my throat beating very hard and as if it might explode when I sleep in afternoon; Most of the times, all these symptoms appear to start or present in evenings till night. I would like to know if anyone of you guys had any symptoms like this before. Can any doctor suggest what might be wrong with me. I searched online and closest symptoms I found are IBS with Fibromyalgia; also my physician is trying to find out if it is due to auto immune defiency; please some body help me. Thanks

In addition to what Furball's mom suggested, please have yourself evaluated for celiac issues or gluten intolerance. Many of the symptoms you're relating could be present due to intolerance of gluten a substance found in wheat, rye, barley and oats.

In regards to auto-immune disorders and illnesses, IBS and GERD are actually only symptoms of the auto-immune disorder.  While what you are talking about does sound like Fibromyalgia, you do want to rule out other illnesses.  Many auto-immune diseases have overlapping symptoms.  Hopefully, your doctor is testing your SED rate, as this can help to determine if is auto-immune issues.  One of the things they look for when they check your SED rate is Lupus.  The rashes make me think it might be Lupus, too.

One thing that can help you with your digestive issues is to investigate food sensitivities.  Both IBS and GERD are affected by food sensitivities.  The nervous system is also affected by food sensitivities.  There is something called Tyramine Intolerance that I learned about from the migraine forum.  Many with Fibromyalgia also have migraine disorders.  I did find a good website that can help you out with understanding food sensitivities related to Tyramine Intolerance.  A closely related food sensitivity issue is histamine intolerance.  The website mentioned apples, carrots and cherries as hypoallergenic.  This much is not true.  Where they talk about spinach, they should've included lettuce.  Other than that, the website is very accurate.  I do believe it is helpful to look at the page I'm sending the link to.  Make sure to follow the links to avoidance diet and elimination diet.  Those things help you to determine which foods are causing you problems.  You will notice that the website says that who can benefit are people with IBS and people with migraines.  The two issues are closely related for people like myself.  Whether you test positive for auto-immune issues or not, the food sensitivity advice will still help you with calming down your digestive symptoms.
