Please help (my doc hasn't been much)

If ANYONE has any ideas or information, please give it to me. For about three months now, I've been having problems right under my xyphoid process. Last August, I was scoped and diagnosed with Barrett's (no dysphagia and everything looked "okay"). However, in late February, I was out eating dinner with a buddy and developed a serious cramp right under my ribcage as we were walking through the mall (well, I was pushing...I use a wheelchair). Everything was fine until the next day when I developed a serious burning sensation right under my xyphoid. To make a long story short, over the past month I've continued to have bad cramping, gas pain (that sometimes extends to my back), bad gas, and spasms (like I can actually feel my muscles under my ribcage spasm). My gastro doc (a real jerk...when he diagnosed me with Barrett's he told my mother, who drove me for the scope, didn't tell me, handed her a brochure, and never offered a follow-up), when I called, pretty much said I had nothing to worry about (even thought I called there twice in three weeks). My internal/primary doc doesn't think it's anything "serious" and has put me on nefical for spasms. No help at all for the most part. Also, not a single xray..but he did have an ultrasound and amlayse and lipase drawn along with my CDC and liver and other counts...all came back fine. SO...I'm waiting until I can get into another gastro doc in late June to have a scope...got to love how we are put on hold for our health. Any ideas? Could Barrett's have progressed in six months? PLEASE, someone, give me hope or at least some advice.

Barrets does need attention! It needs to be watched and your gastro doctor does sound like a "big ***!" I'm SO glad you're seeking out the attention of another.  There's a LOT of good info on barrets at heartburn-help.com and the message board is GREAT! LOT's of other barret sufferers as well, and other GERD sufferers. They would DEFINITELY be able to answer ALL of your questions! I would highly suggest posting over there as well! One more thing. Honestly, if there was something to be "Really" concerned about, as much of an *** as your doctor sounds to be, I think they would have told you. After all, it is their *** that needs to be covered. Just try not to worry. June will be here before you know it! Also, my mother's friend has had baretts for yrs. and she is just fine ;) Go check out that board.
