I have embarassing smell coming out of my anus all the time. 24/7. Dont knw why and how. It started after i have started have sex with my girl friend. and it increases everytime i have sex. More sex i have it will just fill up my whole room with shity odour. thats why i avoid sex may be once in a month.

i tried everything. Edoscopy, colonoscopy, lacsatives, herbal medicines for bowl movement, but it doesn't want to stop. No doctor can help it. I am so surprised how medical science is unable to find any solution to this problem.

I often think of doing suiside sometimes. this thing has stoped my job, my studies and my friends. its all full of **** to have anyone around me. people hate you coz they think u r raciest and smelling because you donot like them. but its not like that, its uncontrolable.

plz HELPPP any doctor. It could be nervous system problem.
but there have to be some medicine that can deodour the system. can minimise the effect of those bacteria that cause Poo to smell bad.

There have to be something man. Come on. NASA has gone to MARS n spend billions of dollars on research, just this little research can save so many lives. SO many many people i know are facing this problem. They feel shy to talk to any one and just SUFFERRR!!!

Dear Sunshine,
I wonder if you were able to talk to your doc about charcoal and probiotics, etc.  I'll throw in my two cents, maybe what I say will help you a little more.

I do think what is causing your odor is "permeable colon wall," sometimes referred to as "leaky gut," and what this means is, waste product is seeping thru the intestinal walls due to some disorder that has developed in there, and so the waste odor is getting into your bloodstream.  So, everywhere your blood goes, so too does the odor.  Naturally if you work up a sweat, there are lots of blood vessels at the surface of the skin, and so it's gonna really ramp up the smell.

Lots of people suffer from this smell routine and it drives them nuts.  You might ask your doc for a referral to an expert at a hospital in a university setting in your state or nearby state, and you might even be able to get in a clinical trial for medicines to treat it.  But while you wait to see a doc on this specific permeable colon wall issue, I have a few suggestions of what you can do to ease the problem.

The charcoal is an excellent suggestion, which you should ask your doc about this when you see him, and also if you'll burn wheat toast and eat it, it'll have similar effect, altho not as good as whole charcoal designed to stop odor.  As for probiotics, you can get it by drinking Acidophilus milk or Activia yogurt from the grocery store, just make sure it has lactobacillus in it.

Here are some more "natural" things that counteract a permeable colon.  Drinking aloe vera juice will help it, and drink extra water daily and cut back on any alcohol consumption.  Crush a garlic clove, you smash it with the flat side of a knife, and add it into your salads, spagetti sauce, just put it in something you eat daily... one clove shouldn't cause garlic breath, but if it does, just suck on a mint after a meal.  Also, along with the garlic, put some sort of fresh mint leaf, like peppermint, finely chopped, in the same dishes.  There are two supplements you should take, one is a good vitamin B complex every few days, and the other is the product "Beano," which is an anti-gas tablet, take it daily, or a product similar to it that says "anti-gas."  Try using "Dial soap," which is antibacterial, and perhaps use a fragrant man's lotion for any dry skin from that soap, they may diminish the odor, and when you are intimate with your girlfriend, light up some incense and scented candles to minimize your awareness of body odor.

There may be some websites online for people who have unusual body odor, that have forum communities where folks can talk about how hard it is and what they've done to "fix" it or deal with it.  I would look it up for you, but my machine has been acting up lately.  But I even remember on "Oprah" one time, they had a young lady who smelled like fish all the time.  She managed to find a boyfriend, tho, who was not bothered by the smell at all, so there are also people out there who for some reason don't pay attention to odor...maybe your girlfriend is one of those.

So, in summary, try to get a referral from your gastro doc to an expert on permeable colon wall disorder, and, until you get some proper treatment, try the few things I've suggested, and I know this health problem can be cured for you one day, as labs are researching treatments for this.  And one word on suicidal thoughts, next to your phone write down the number for the "Crisis Intervention" bunch in your area, they are listed in either the first few pages of phone books or in the white or yellow pages alphabetically, it's anonymous and 24/7, and next time you get totally fed up and miserable, CALL THEM instead of doing away with yourself!  They'll talk to you as long as it takes for you to feel comfortable, and they don't mind if you call back numerous times.

Well, hang in, kid, and keep us posted.  We all want you to get better.  Let us know how things go with your doc, and if any of the remedies we've told you about work or not.

I understand that this much be very difficult to deal with, but be thankful that there is no pain or discomfort associated with this.  Have you been checked for an abscess?  I don't believe this is a genetic defect.  You said you've tried everything, but have you tried all different types of probiotics and activated charcoal?  I would recommend seeing a therapist, because even though this isn't necessarily a psychiatric problem, you seem to have become depressed about this and a therapist will help you with that.

THanks everybody.. your hlep is appreciated

I have this problem for last 8 years
and every day i passed was ful of embarassment.

i tried everything but it reduces the smell for sometimes than its back again.

i think its genetic defect. Some protective coating in the rectum and anus is missing. I dont leak anything accept smell. & its very very embarassing and disguesting. The worst thing that can ever hapen to a human being in his life time that everybody hates you for what you are.. and worst thing is you r innocent. You just wana be normal n Happy.

Married people when they have sex have this problem. But the smell stays for 1-2 days ater that when they eat healthy and stop excessive sex it go away for them. IN my case it doesn't wana go away.

I have seen people with this problem and their life is Absolute HELL.

I wish i was never born. but i am so sad, doctor's doesn't seems to knwo about it at all. For them its psychiatric problem. i think i m becoming psycho with their ignorance and limited knowledge about this problem.

I am goin to the doctor to get Activia / charcoal / devrom  etc.. whatever i get i will try each every week. n let's see the result. For me their is nothing fun in life.. its full of ****

I would recommend you consult your doctor before you start something like charcoal.

But bear in mind while charcoal ***** up the smell it will also suck up good bacteria and nutrients. So Probiotics and multivitamins should be taken after 2 hours from "Activated Charcoal"

Try charcoal capsules. Take 1 with meals everyday for first 3-4 days then reduce to 1 charcoal capsule in 2 days.. Smell will be vanished - trust me.. And probiotics will help. Don't over do charcoal - the stated dose is enough.

Sorry Patient915 is right about Flagyl......I know that my son was given a white powder that had to be refridgerated.  it was added to his bottle and it was to repopulate the good bacteria.  I guess that I don't remember what it was called.  Flagyl is an anti-biotic not for this problem.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  You should definitely try a probiotic.  Sometimes it takes trying a couple different ones to find one that words.  Flagyl is an antibiotic that will kill off bad bacteria, it is not good bacteria to add to your system.  However, Activia is a good idea.

Some times after taking anti-biotics, your normal bacterial in your bowels is killed off.  It can cause a change in odor.  You might ask your doctor to give you Phlagyl, its good bacteria to repopulate your bowels.  Hope I spelled it right.  Or maybe, you could try yougurt with the lactobacillus additive in it, like Activia.  Please don't talk suicide!  Your life is too important to be considering that.  Please try to see someone about your depression.  I know your frustrated but it will work out, don't give up.  Hope you feel better soon.
