Post-Op Fistulotomy Nightmare, Not Healing! Please help.

I had a "small" rectal fistula that was supposed to heal in about a month after my fistulotomy.  Its been over two months, and it's not healing.  Stool softeners do nothing, even if I take 3 times the recommended dose, my stools are very formed and cause bleeding consistently.  Sitz baths are getting old by now, etc.  There's just a lot of bleeding when I have a bowel movement and I think it's preventing this thing from healing.   How long can this possibly take to heal?  Pardon the gory details, but there is a constant discharge from the area, it's watery, not puss-like.  So annoying and constantly uncomfortable. The colorectal surgeon who did my surgery has gone missing.  Can anyone offer any suggestions?  How long can this possibly go on and what else can I do to help this thing heal more expeditiously?  Please, I'm desperate at this point.  Thank you

You need to get a second opinion.  Does the discharge have a foul odor, is it discolored?  If so, there could either be an infection festering and/or the fistula is not totally closed.
How did you develop the fistula?  Is there a history of crohns or surgery for ulcerative colitis with ileo anal pouch created?
