Post-Op Gall Bladder Removal Pain

Post-Op Gall Bladder Removal Pain

5/14/10 had gall bladder removed for several small stones.  Symptoms prior to removal were pain/burning just below sternum, vomiting, nausea, reflux.  Felt better for 2.5 days and then started with RUQ pain.  1 time VERY sharp stabbing pain at gall bladder level followed by severe diarrhea.  Week later less sharp stabbing pain w/ diarrhea.  Given bile salts? and the diarrhea stopped.  Now continue to have burning poker pain at g/b level and pain in approx. 4 inch bank from bottom of Rt rib cage and down right side.  Nausea & vomiting have returned to daily regularity.  The nausea can happen at any time, but is usually present for most of the day and appears more frequently when I haven't eaten than when I have (I just eat breakfast as the rest of the day nausea makes me not want to eat).  The vomiting usually releaves the nausea, but only occurs once I lay down usually.  These events usually number between 10-20 times at night.

2 wks after surgery did lab work and found only the Alkaline-Phosphotate enzymes elevated after surgery (95 before/134 2 wks later).  It was recommended that I have an ERCP after those results.  I wanted to give it a bit more time before taking on that risk.  2 wks later, I still had RUQ pain and they re-ran the liver enzymes.  I don't know what that result was, except I was told it was back to normal.  As I still had the same symptoms, and ultrasound was then performed which once again was not conclusive.  It says the bile duct was enlarged, but evidently not as enlarged as they would expect if I had a bile stone.  The pain continues.

I'm at the end of my patience here.  I am in more pain than I was before the surgery.  Surgeon had me go back to the GI guy for an ERCP (he did an endoscopy a couple wks after surgery (negative). I had hoped to get the ERCP done without additional time waiting for office visits as it's been 7 wks post op.  He thinks I'm begging for it.  No!  I understand there is a significant risk of pancreatitis with it, so would prefer something else...I'm just tired of them saying no you have to see him first, but he can't see you for another week & 1/2.  I'm sick & tired of feeling sick and tired.  Tomorrow am I'm going in for an MRCP.  My concern is since my luck ***** so far in getting rid of this pain, what happens if the MRCP comes back negative/indecisive?  I can't keep this up much longer.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
