Post-Op Gallbladder..

Okay..if anyone can help with my questions I certainly would appreciate any feedback!  I am post-op 3 weeks.  Yesterday I started feeling really nauseated and waking up with a back ache?  Is this normal??  Why is this happening?  I know I should contact the surgeon however I thought I would start here and then give them a call.  It gets better later in the am...but the back is still there.  Anyone please..suggestions on what I can take or do.

Thanks for answering Laura and Latelinda,

Just letting you know the nausea seems to disappear after a while.  But not going to take any chances. I already made an appt., for this Monday at 2pm.  We shall what he says!

I am taking CalGal advise and sticking to my low fat diet.....this is a major surgery nonetheless...nothing to play around with.  I am starting today and will start keeping a journal and see if there are any changes.

I had my surgery in January and it was major oper. as I have had so much abdominal surgery.  My incision was 8 in. along my right lower rib.  Anyway the first 4 weeks I expected recovery pain and weakness.  I just did 9 days in hospital with nothing by mouth and IVs.  The pain is unbearable at times.  I thought I was having a heart attack several times as it was so intense in my chest sternum area.  It hurts constantly around my midback and several times in my shoulders near my neck muscles.
I had Acute Pancreatitis and urinary tract infection.  I do not know if the UTI was as result of Pancreatitis infection.
In January they told me I was jaundice as stones went through my Pancreas and Liver.
I was in so much pain and was in hospital over three weeks then.  I can not afford these times in hospital.  I do not understand why it keeps reoccuring and when will it stop hurting now.  I just wanted to warn you it may be your Pancreas too.

The back ache might be part of the healing process, as I have had that too. I am now 2 weeks post op as you know.
Today though, I suffered an bad and I mean bad pain in my chest, and around my sternum area. It kind of felt like the gas from the surgery.....remember how intense and painful it was? It took like 10 mins to pass. I have been kind of sore through there and fatigued all day.
Personally I think we will have residual symptoms for 4-6 weeks as our bodies get acclimated and heal. Even though it was laproscopic, gallbladder surgery is Major surgery. I know that I did not really realize the extent of this until I went on youtube and watched a few of the surgeries.
If you stay nauseated and it doesn't get better, then you HAVE to call the surgeon for some follow up tests. Epsecially to make sure you don't have any stones in the biliary tract, etc. Also to make sure you haven't developed any infection.

If anyone else has any comments I myself would love to hear. :)
