Post Triple Therapy for H. Pylori

Post Triple Therapy for H. Pylori

I went to the GI doc today and he said the results of my breath test for H. Pyloriwas negative(I was very relieved).  I had doubts but the two weeks of Acihpex and the two antibiotics worked.  Taking  these med's put my disgestive system on a wild rollercoaster.  I lost 15lbs(went from 160 to 145). For the past month I have not had any symptoms of gastritis.  Hopefully, this chapter is closed.  I have made a dietary changes as result of this and I am now eating smarter.  It's probably for the better but I had to give up coffee(this was tough because I have been a daily coffee drinker for 30 years)

Has anyone else had success for treating H. Pylori with the combination of PPI and antibiotics?  Also, should  I start taking pribiotic supplements or anything else to help my gut back to normal.

Thanks

A lot of people have been successfully treated in this matter. Just please continue to eat 'smart.' It can take many months for the gastritis induced by the H. pylori to subside. It's not unusual to hear people talking about problems starting 2-3 months after they're stopped treatment because they think they're healed because they're not experiencing any 'symptoms,' but they went back to their old habits.

Probiotics would be a VERY good idea. There are some great brands on the market. I'd highly suggest it. Besides, it sure can't hurt.
