I had diverticulitis in March. I was hospitalized for 3 days on IV antibiotics and clear fluids. I took the remaining course of antibiotics and was told by my GI Dr. to resume a normal diet but to up my fiber. I still had pain in my lower left side so we did a colonoscopy. Other than 1 inernal ehmorrhoid and 1 single diverticulum, it came back normal. I still pain in the same area. The GI Dr. said if I still ahve pain it is probably irritable bowel and that I need to increase my fiber, take a fiber supplement and maybe take meds to calm the spasms
or cramps. It really feels like pain - like someone is poking at me. I put a heating pad on last night and that seemed to help some. I just want to find a cause and work to resolve it than just assume what it is.
