Post hiatal hernia repair
Is it normal to have bloody sputum shortly after surgery

Hi there!

Unless it was a surgery that involved endoccopy to the upper GI/ respiratory tract or GA, bloody sputum may not be normal. Also if there was an endoscopy involved, more than a small amount over a few days would require an evaluation by a primary care physician or a pulmonologist.
