Prilosec OTC vs. prescription generic Omeprazole

Until two days ago, I had been taking Prilosec OTC, 40 mgs. daily.  I'm now taking the generic Omeprazole capsules, prescription.  I switched to the generic version because it's covered by my insurance and it's a lot cheaper.   I was told both meds were the same.  However, after taking the generic Omep. capsules, I got  bad side effects.  I've never had any side effects from the Prilosec OTC.  Just wondering if anyone else has noticed a significant difference in the two.

It can be the  fillers and non-active ingredients you are having issue with. You might want to switch b ack or see if there is something else they can prescribe.

Flowers, this comment is heard quite often. You're not the only one who notices a difference when they switch.
