Prilosec otc about 2 weeks ago. For the past two days I have had incredible thirst, and then today noticed such a bitter taste in my mouth that nothing could get rid of. I was happened to look at my
tongueTongue tie and noticed that it is coated with a white film, almost furry looking. I cannot
scrape it off though. Is this a side effect of
PrilosecPrilosec
Prilosec otc and is it serious?? Should I discontinue the drug or is there something to treat this interesting development. Is it contagious?

Prilosec otc) dry mouth, esophageal Candidias (fungal infection) and mucosal atrophy of the tongue are among those that are listed. In your case, I would discontinue omeperazole (Prilosec) at this time. These conditions are probably not serious or contagious and should resolve on their own once the drug is discontinued. However, if they persist you should follow-up with your primary care physician or gastroenterologist.
