Propulsid palpitations and breathing dificulty. Any connection?

by Marcelo__0, Dec 14, 1998 12:00AM
I am taking Propulsid 10MG also Synthroid .150 and Pepcid RPD 20MG. I am experiencing some difficulty breathing and palpitaions. Is there a relation between this symtoms and Propulsid ?
Dear Marcelo,
Propulsid is contraindicated in patients with underlying heart disease and abnormal heart rhythms. Shortness of breath may be secondary to the palpitations and elevated heart rate or secondary to another cause. Certain medications can interact with Propulsid and cause palpitations and fatal arrythmias. The medications that you mentioned are not included in that list. Nevertheless, I would recommend that you discontinue Propulsid for now and follow up with your primary physician. I hope you find this information helpful.
