Protonix Side Effects

Though I was having issues before starting Protonix, is it possible it aggrevated something or kept it on? (But was disguised coz I alreayd had stuff??)

Two of the possible side-effects ARE diarrea (diarrhea) and naseau.

However, in the studies, it was like 1-4 out of 531 in one test, and a few in a 100 something another.

Sounds like the side effect chances are very low...But I also wonder how reliable these "reports are"

Since it has helped with acid attack issues in tummy I don't want too stop it//am afraid too.

I have been taking on/off the Protonix 40mg for at least 5 years.  It works good for my acid reflux.  However, everytime I am taking it for two weeks up to 2 months, I always get tonsils infection (not really infection but my breath smell bad and I saw the tonsil through the mirror with the white thing on the tonsils).  Is this one of the sideeffect from this medication?  When I stop taking this medicine, the white spots disappear.  Please help but I have to take it for my acid reflux.  Thank you.

I take Protonix with no side effects. I was taking prilosec- then Aciphex w/ no relief. The Protonix seems to really work. It's only been about a month though..

Usually white bumps or spots on your tonsils is a sign of tonsilitis or strep throat. I dont' think its related to the protonix. Next time you see the symptom- I think you sould go to your doctor. Some people can get recurrent tonsilitis- I had it as a kid.

I am not so sure about this.  However, when I stopped taking this for about one month, I don't see the white spots/bumps on my tonsils anymore.  Now I just started taking it about one week, it appears again on my tonsils.  Thanks.

Protonix works very good for my acid reflux but when I stop taking it, I have acid reflux again.  I feel so frustrated and stress about this.  If I stop taking protonix, my tonsils get back to normal.  But if I feel so much pain in my stomach.  Anyone has any suggestions and please help.  I tried Aciphex/Nexium/previsas/zantax but no help for my acid reflux except protonix.
