Question about stool width

by Fleur, Jun 13, 2002 12:00AM
My basic question is how "wide" are stools supposed to be?  I hear all this stuff about narrow stools.  My doctor thinks I have IBS.  My stools, when I don't have diarrhea, are about the size of a cigar.  Is that considered narrow or is that within the range of normal?

Stools are not always the same size, they vary, i dont see any thing wrong with yours, you did not state anything about blood, trust me, your Dr would send you for tests if he thought there was a problem.........Good Luck
