Question on H. Pylori test

For the past month or so, I have had increasing burning upper abdominal pain (acid-like pain).  Went to a new doc, as my primary said everything was okay.  Got the H. Pylori breath test.  This came back negative.  (As did an upper GI.)


My question is:  how long should I have refrained from any antacids, etc. before that test?


I an trying to go to another doctor, since I think that I should get the H. Pylori test again.  
Other than these two "negative" tests, my symptoms are textbook uncler symptoms (incl. the waking up at night with the pain).

hello, you should have an endoscopy which goes down your esophagus and abdomen, this test gets right to the source, don't give up to you find the cause, good luck, jenny

l have heard that having h pylori long term can actually cause low stomach acid,but with same symptoms.So my question is should l continue to take anti acids as my doctor has prescribed.l was given the triple treatment for 1 week following an endoscopy but feel worse not better.
