Pancreatitis, chronic - ct scan can produce an incapacitating pain,, as you are aware. In our practice we have had much success using Duragesic analgesic patches. In a small subset of patients, there is a single streicture of the pancreatic duct and in this group surgical treatment may be effective. In general, however, surgery does not relieve the pain of chronic pancreatitis.
