Recent eating problem with my son

by Diamond1262, Nov 06, 2009 09:11PM
My 20 year old son has been complaining about not being able to eat as much lately.  He says that when he's hungry, he can never finish his plate and if he tries to finish, he either feels nauseated or he actually vomits.  My son has never been known to over eat, but he usually sits down and finishes his plate.  He barely eats anymore.  He says he gets full very quick now and can go a whole day off of one meal and not feel like he's starving himself.  He is pretty healthy and hasn't had any surgeries or even been hospitalized except for when he was 2 years old.  He had a UTI at a young age.  Other than that, he's been fine.  Very active and healthy.  I'm very concerned about this.  Please help.

You may want to consider asking the doc to test him for delayed gastric emptying (gastroparesis).

Thank you so much for your input.  I will do that.  Exactly what is that? and how serious is this?
