Recent iron labs.....confused & would like opinions :)

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read/answer my post!!

I am a 41 year female / thin/ high blood pressure with fatigue for 17 months. All kinds of labs have been done and these are the only ones that stand out:

MMA   92                                                  Range  87-318
Homocysteine nutritional & congenital 7.8    Range  5.4-11.9
Vitamin B12  1537 HIGH                             Range 200-1100

Total Iron 132                                             Range  40-175
TIBC    215 LOW                                        Range 250-450
%Saturation     61 HIGH                              Range 15-50%

Ferritin  57                                                  Range  10-232

Folate  17.3                           Range  >5.4 Normal

I also had a complete metabolic panel and lipid profile and the results were all within normal range (I do not have those lab results yet).

My Multi Vitamin has 18mg of iron (100%)  and 6mcg of B12 (100%).  I do not take a B12 supplement but just started on an Iron Supplement at the request of the neurologist.

I was diagnosed with HBP and have been taking Benazepril 20mg for alittle over 1 month.

Here are the previous results for comparison:
11/17/10   B12  1626 (High)  (200-100)

9/30/10   Ferritin 35.3
   B12 >2000  (high)  200-1100

8/5/10     Ferritin  31
Iron  81  (40-175)
Total Iron Binding Capacity 244 (low)  (250-450)
% Saturation  33   (15-50%)

11/3/09   B12  925 (200-1100)

Thanks for answering my question patient915!

That's what I am thinking as well. Have a call into my Neurologist who ordered the tests and faxed the labs to my hematologist.  I will post any updates.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  I am not an expert at reading labs, but overall they look pretty normal to me.  High B12 is not something you should worry about.  The only thing that is concerning to me is that your % saturation is a little high.  This might (but probably doesn't because your ferritin and total iron are normal) indicate a disease called hemochromatosis.  I would consult with your GP about this.
