Rectal Drainage in Cats

My cat is about 8 years old, and for the past couple of weeks I've noticed that occasionally when she sits on the bed, there will be some drainage left behind.  It doesn't appear to be blood, it's darker in color.  She's still using the bathroom fine and eating good.  Her stools do not appears to be bloody.  Any idea what could be wrong with her?  We just lost our other cat in Dec and there was nothing wrong with him, we just woke up and found him, so I'm a little nervous.   Thank you for your time.

Umm..this forum is for people problems. There is another forum for cats and there is one where a vet answers your questions.

However, being a cat owner myself, I would call my vet and ask him. Good Luck with kitty.
