and the GI specialist seemed to have made a guess that I had IBS. This was far from the case. I simply changed my diet and never suffered from the abdominal pain.
Now with that said, I later found that I had another fissure
. I went under a regimen of Colace, Metamucil, sitz baths, heating pads, and LidaZone HC Cream. After seeing another GI specialist, I was given Nitroglycerine 0.2% ointment which seemed to have healed the fissure
. I went back for a check up and was told that everything had healed.
About a month later, I started suffering from rectal pains and aches as well as bleeding and some pinkish discharge/mucus. I went back to my PCP and he stated that there was some type of infection that was draining itself through some sort of tunneling and that I had an anal crack on the anus (located near the direction of the tail bone). I was given a shot and then placed on Cipro for 2 weeks until I could see the GI specialist. I was able to see the specialist 3 weeks later and he scheduled a colonoscopy 2 weeks after that. He said that he didn't see anything and pretty much said that everything was fine.
With that said, I am still having rectal pain/aches, bleeding, and the pink discharge. There were never any signs of hemorrhoids and no more signs of fissures. Something that I have noticed is that if I press against the anus area, it feels as though the muscle structure around the rectum is a hard blub. Also a lymph node will swell in my groin/inner thigh area (which I am assuming is a sign of infection of some sort). Are there any test that can be done to see if there is an issue with the muscle structure surrounding the anus and rectum that would possibly show the cause of my pain/ache, bleeding, and discharge that would not show up on a colonoscopy? Would an endoscopy, barium enema x-ray, ultrasound, CAT scan, or MRI be better tests? Are there any highly recommended specialist in the Washington, DC area? What other causes are there that have these symptoms?
