Tumors can be well vascularized, meaning, they contain a significant amount of blood vessels.
Bleeding can be caused by the tumor or mass that continues to grow will ulcerate into the inside portion of the colon or rectum.
It is the ulceration that causes the bleeding, as blood vessels within the tumor are the exposed.
