Right mid back and abdominal pain

Right mid back and abdominal pain

Hello, I am a 43 yr old female and I've been having the following symptoms for about 1 and a half weeks now. After I've been laying down (sleeping) for a few hours, I start hurting in my right, mid-back area. When I get up from laying down, I realize that I am also hurting in my right abdominal area adjacent to my back pain. The pain is dull and almost feels like a "heaviness." Other than this pain, I don't have any other symptoms -- and they go almost completely away after I've been up for a few hours. I originally thought that I had pulled a muscle (from stretching) but I'm not so sure anymore. It doesn't feel exactly like a muscle problem. I went for a massage and it didn't seem to make a difference (and normally it will, if I'm having a muscular problem.)

I have experienced gallbladder problems my entire life. According to the doctors, my gallbladder duct sometimes goes into spasms. They never been able to find anything else wrong with it. These attacks have been much less frequent the older I've gotten. The symptoms I'm feeling now don't really seem like my gallbladder because I'm not experiencing the severe pain and digestion issues that normally accompany my gallbladder attacks.

The only other recent problem I've had was an upper-respiratory infection. I was on a antibiotic for two weeks and during this time I coughed profusely. I coughed so hard and for so long that my sternum-area hurt to even touch it. I don't know whether there could be any correlation between this sickness and the pain I am currently experiencing.

Any help/insights into what is causing this pain would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.
