Rotted food

Rotted food

I bought a piece of meat at the grocery.  I think it was a flank steak.  Anyways I left it in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks.  I didn't know it but the cellophane packaging had a hole in.  When I went to cook it, the meat was colored real funny around that hole and there looked like some sort of parasites were moving around in that area.  (I don't know anything about parasites, but all I know was there was something small and white and almost not there to the nude eye but it was definitely moving.)  I cut that part out and cooked the rest fairly well done.  Should I not have eat that at all?  I feel OK right now, just kind of gross.  That was about 2 hours ago.

I would not have eaten that meat.  It can take up to 4 hours for food poisoning to hit, so just be aware.  It will start with nausea, diarrhea and even vomiting.  There is nothing you can do for it unless it becomes very severe, then you stand a chance of getting dehydrated and will need to go to the ER.  But most often people can ride it out, and it doesn't last long at all.  Your body is ridding itself of the bad stuff and within a few hours you will feel much better.  Hopefully, you lucked out, I hope so!
