If it is infection (food poisoning) it is likely a bacterial or parasitic infection. Bacterial infection should go away in few days, but parasitic infection may last for weeks, heal temporarily, reoccur again..so if it won't heal in some days, you should have a stool test for parasites and, if positive, take prescribed medications. In parasites there's often some mucus in the stool.
"Runner's diarrhea" my be triggered just by running and related circumstances, physical stress...An energy fruit bar or a sport drink with sorbitol or HFCS could cause problems if you've developed fructose malabsorption.
If it is lower abdominal bloating, it may be from lactose intolerance...
