SEVERE Upper Abdominal Pain

I am a 41 year old female.  Yesterday morning after having breakfast ham/eggs in toast I had a dull ache in my stomach, later after a large lunch in a restaurant I started with UNIMAGINABLE  abdominal cramping which ended with vomiting street side.  The pain was so intense that I was doubled over and trying not to pass out.  It took about 10-15 minutes for pain to subside enough for me to get in car and go home.  The remainder of the day I had a dull ache and had 1/3 of a sandwich at about 9 p.m. which was OK, This morning I had a banana and cup of Soymilk and again OK just the reminder dull ache of you better take care of yourself but after having lunch (white tuna w/onions and 1 T Mayo on white bread) 1 hour and 40 minutes later I was again dying of pain, bent over vomiting and trying not to pass out, this EXTREME episode laster 45 minutes to an hour.  At the end I had some speech loss (from exhaustion?) and the whole time I was in intense moaning pain - Yes, my husband was going to call 911 - we did a heating pad on my stomach that did not really help but eventually I fell asleep and woke up pain free.  I had 1/2 glass ginger ale and 4 saltines and feel like a ticking time bomb.  I don't have insurance and don't want to go for a million tests.  My bowel movements are normal this is strictly the center top of the stomach were the pain is and it feels like it is being wrung out or squeezed.  I don't even know what type of doctor to start with that could see me before this happens again?  For now I really don't want to eat.....  Would appreciate any input....from the forums it almost sounded like pancreatis?

perhaps could be a bad case of gastroenteritis? my partner had this over the past week, pain came at night, was so bad that 2 nights in a row she had to be rushed to the hospital. injections did help for a couple hours before the pain came back. the dull ache sounded familiar here. probably try hyoscine for the pain and take a twice daily dose of omeprazole for a week to see it helps. in the meantime, you have to bear with it i suppose! hope it gets better!

Oh, I didn't see the dull ache part you wrote.  Maybe it is pancreatitis.  Maybe it'll pass.

But if it doesn't, you can go to uhc.com.   They're a health insurance provider, but they have this special thing for uninsured people where you pay like $25 a month and you get 40% discounted rates at the hospital (the same rates the health insurance company gets).   I don't need to tell you, you will be in a world of hurt financially if you have to go, but this could save you several thousand dollars.   I don't think pre-existing conditions matter on this sort of thing.

...oh and this stuff you want to take on an empty stomach.   Works much better that way.

The fact that it's so linked to eating and it's so incredibly painful screams gall stones at me.   Try staying away from fat.   Just stick with vegetables; it's not worth it.   My G.I. doctor says the location of the pain doesn't say much.   But you can give that a try.    The best home remedy for gall stones is olive oil and lemon juice.    Maybe I'm off in left field and it's not gall stones, but with pancreatitis I don't think you would have fits immediately after eating like that--I think it's supposed to be more continuous.

I have been very pleased with this, and I don't even have gall stones.  But you will want to take like triple the dose or even more.  It says on the instruction label to take some obscene dose of this stuff if you're having gall stone attacks.   You could wind up spending 1 or 2 hundred dollars on this stuff, but maybe it will help you avoid the no insurance.
