Saw GI for the 2nd time and i'm wondering if he's taking me seriously enough.

I'll spare you all the details, but i have been having many different symptoms after becoming sick with flu like symptoms, a fever for one night, a dry cough that won't let up to this day, thin rectangular stools along with constipation that have let up, but now my stools are gray in color after certain foods, such as biscuits. Also, weird cramps all over my abdomen. (I  had my Gallbladder removed 2 years ago) When i told my GI of my concern, he said that he sees nothing alarming with those symptoms and that it is probably just my IBS worsening. I have had IBS a long time and have never had these symptoms. He said i may have cought an infection that worsened the IBS as a result. Sigh, No definitive answers. I have no idea if my sickness has anything to do with my worsened stomach problems. The cough really concerns me. I may get a chest xray if the prilosec and zantac do not help it. The theory is that it's coming from my acid reflux, which is pretty bad, BUT it only started worsening after i got sick.

Isn't continuous gray stool supposed to be rather serious indications of anything from hepatitis to malabsorption to cancer? I have a catscan with and without contrast scheduled. I do want an answer, but i don't want a bad one. I'm very nervous. Oh and i have also been tested for celiac among many other things, like chrohns, which runs in my family. All negative. My next step after the catscan is eventually another endoscopy ( had one two years ago) and my first colonoscopy. Just wondering if anyone has dealt with the same thing. Thank you for listening.

I forgot to mention i am very low in Vitamin D and b which i am now attempting to remedy with supplement Rx's from my doctor. Also, i brought up to my GI that i was very low in those two vitamins and asked if maybe the gray stool had something to do with malabsorption. A connection to my low vitamin levels... It was only then that it made him think to test further with the CT scan. I'm not a doctor, but my brain does correlate things to make sense.
