Seriously annoying digestive issues

by Restless929, Jul 16, 2009 11:00PM
Ok I'm a 27 year old female average weight. For years I have had digestive issues that have recently gotten much worse. For as long as I can remember I have had diarreha I didn't know I was different until a friend told me that wasn't normal mostly it's about 20 minutes after a meal and is pure liquid it changes to be a bit more solid at times but very very rarely have a "normal" bm. This I have accepted and doesn't worry me but in the last few months I have been waking up around 2 am and vomiting I know before I go to bed that tonight I will throw up it's worse when I lay down but this week it's constant and so far daily. I can only describe it as a felling that my food is in my throat. There is no pain nausia or foul taste just feels like my food is stuck. On these days I don't eat after 3pm and if I sleep sitting up I can skip the vomiting. I have been told it's probably a hernia but when looking a symptoms online I don't know I know I'm lactose intolerant and avoid it or take lactaid but this feeling is becoming increasingly a hinder on my life my tummy is hungry but I can't eat so any hints advice or posible causes would be much appriciated! Thank you

First you should have a test for Helycobacter pylori infection of the stomach that causes chronic gastritis and gastric reflux but often causes no symptoms.

Gallstones may cause vomiting but they usually appear with right upper abdominal pain and nausea.

The first investigation in suspecting hernia is X-ray after barium meal.

Maybe your lactose intolerance has worsened - in this case you should try with a strict lactose free diet. Lactose intolerance often worsens during infection with parasites - ova & parasites test would show that.

You can also try with low-FODMAP diet - it is a low-sugar diet (search online).

There is not even one serious medical site on the internet that would confirm that lactagen works.
