Severe Hunger Pains

I had gastric bypass 6 years ago, and have done great. I lost 98 pounds all together, and over the course of the years and having a baby, have gained back between 10 and 15 pounds. I am staying at about 155, which is fine. Here is the problem...here in the past few weeks I have been having some severe hunger pains and continuous stomach growling. I feel like I can't get enough to eat. I was told it might have dumping syndrome, but I've even cut back on carbs and sugars, and increased my protein intake, and its not going away. This has never happened before, and I don't know why this is starting now. This is an awful feeling. It seems to feel like low blood sugar, but I was tested for that and test results were fine. Please help.

Thanks,
Marlo

Marlo, check to see whether you have H. pylori. Some people in different stages of GERD describe that constant hunger pain, and it turns out it may be due to GERD. Since  H. pylori is a causative factor, you might want to be tested for that.

Thanks so much. I will definitely check that out. Someone else suggested that I might have an ulcer. I think I might have a scope done just to be sure. In the meantime, I am taking Prevacid everyday to see if that might help in case it is an ulcer.

Sorry. I just read further and realized that H.Pylori is the cause of ulcers. I didn't realize that. Don't know much about it.

I've been having the same problem for months now, I am 19 and had lost around 40 pounds in a short amount of time. I went from 157 to 117. I would definitely have your gallbladder checked. I have had all the tests and nothing has yet showed, but I am convinced that it's my gallbladder. If I have sludge or very tiny stones that don't show on the ultrasound then that could be causing my problem.
Do you have pain in the upper right quadrant? and does fatty foods irritate it more??
