Severe Reflux - for 5 years

by mehranny, Mar 23, 2008 12:53AM
Hello - I am a thirty year old fit male suffering from severe GERD. I have tried PPIs but I am going to quit as I think there is a "rebound affect". I don't drink, smoke and sleep inclined yet my symptoms are out of control. There is a constant burning in my stomach and I get chest pains on occasion. 2 Endoscopes came back negative and they actually showed me a picture where my sphincter was closed as is normal. So, with my stomach producing absurd amounts of acid I want to look at surgical alternatives. Is this one any good? Seems better than Nissen. Can't they also cut the nerve that controls acid production?
