Severe chronic stomach pains

Severe chronic stomach pains

Hi. I am 22 years old. I have had severe stomach pains ever since I can remember. I have been hospitalized about once a year for the past 4 years. Every time I was diagnosed with possible ulcers and GERD. I was also diagnosed with H. Pylori and underwent an antibiotic regiment and have since tested negative. 3 months ago I had an attack and they determined it was appendicitis. I had emergency surgery and lo-and-behold! Still having severe stomach cramps. I have had an upper endoscopy and a colonoscopy. I had some mild erosion in my stomach and intestines. All biopsies were negative. I had an ultrasound of my gallbladder yesterday and the results were negative. I have a HIDA scan coming up next. I have severe pains in my stomach and now intestinal regions. Bowel movements are hard black tarry (signs of intestinal bleeding)? And this is not the first time I have had bloody stool. I am afraid that the appedix and the gallbladder are decoys for a much more serious problem. I excersize and eat healthy. I don't smoke and I am not overweight. Any suggestions? Diet has been changed. No spicy or fatty or fried food. Please help.

Black stools indicate a problem with bleeding  in the Stomach, Visible blood in the stools is a sign of bleeding further down in the intestines, Sence you have had an endoscopy they should show signs of an ulcer or something that would cause bleeding, When did the black stools  start ? Has it always been black or was it after the endoscopy you noticed it? How frequently are they black ? Do you take  Iron tablets or Pepto bismol  as these can cause black stools ,I would say if the colonoscopy was clear then it's probably nothing like ulcerative colitis or Crohns .

The black stool only happened 2-3 times last week. The colonoscopy/endoscopy showed nothing more than minor erosion and a nodule that was tested and came back negative. I do not take Pepto (makes me puke :P ) and no iron. I have a HIDA scan next week. I'm just afraid no one will ever figure out what's wrong with me. Maybe it's all in my head :-/

It's good the colonoscopy was clear I would suggest you get a Stool test to cheak for blood and other nasty's even if you have already had one ,The HIDA scan is your last bet really, It would most likely find problems like cholecystitis or cystic duct obstruction Although these conditions often cause yellow or very pale  stools not black ,It is certainly not in your head ..you could have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) which is very common and is only diagnosed when all over tests are Normal. What about an MRI or CT scan have you had any of thoughts ?
