Severe gas/bloating pains in lower chest/upper abdomen

I've been having these fits that last days on end of severe and violent gas and bloating to the point where I have to take deep breaths to catch the top of my breath. Along with this when it gets at its worst I will have a dull ache in my lower chest or upper abdomen that becomes a sharp pain when I lay on my left side. My muscles and joints feel achy all over at times. I take Gas-x and pepto as much as allowed daily when I have these episodes but they give me little to no relief.

I do also have along with IBS, acute anxiety disorder multiple food and airborne allergies and hbp. I take Dexilant, lexapro, claritin, metoprolol and xanax on a daily basis.

It doesn't seem to matter what I eat also. I'm always gassy and bloated to some extent. It's just that sometimes it hits a peak which  is where I've been for the past 3 days and I don't know what to do. It's so miserable.

Also my bowel movements seem to contain mucous in them most of the time and I have diarrhea frequently. Some days I will have a bunch of small bowel movements rather than just a few regular ones.

Hi Jazoon,
I once took Metaprolol and alot of my hair fell out. have you had that problem? The pharmacist said 1 in 100 it happens to, so I was one of the one hundred , Go figure.
I too have bloating so badly, and edema in my feet and legs. My abdomen and upper area hurt like what you were explaining.
I myself have Liver Disease. But in the past, when I bloated, or swelled up, it went down with diuretics. Not this time. I have been suffering for over 2 months.
I have an appt. with a new gastro because mine seems to be just taking blood and money. No Answers, and No IMPROVEMENT. Grrr
I have a new appt with a new Dr. Oct. 31, so with that i am excited to maybe find some answers. I have gall stones too. But something is severly wrong. The bloating is so uncomfortable everywhere, there is not much relief!
