I Have went to doctors for my abdominal pain and I cant get a straight answer. I have had a upper GI done and it showed scarring but no ulcers. After about 7 test they wanted to take out my galbladder, so they did and guess what i still have the same pain. They prescribed me everyt type of acid reducer you can think of and nothing helped. Im sick of The Doctors around here just throwing pills at me. Thats like putting tape over the check engine light of your car it doesnt fix anything, that just covers up the problem. 50% of the time when i eat(could be anything) I start getting severe put me on my kneesAnterior cruciate ligament (acl) injury Anterior knee pain Bursa of the knee Dermatitis, herpetiformis on the knee Knee arthroscopy Knee arthroscopy - series Knee joint replacement Knee joint replacement prosthesis Knee pain Kneecap dislocation Meniscus tears pain a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys in my stomach and in my intestines. It feels as though a truck is parked on my waist with a knife tearing through from one side of my abdimon to the other. When this is happening i get bloated gassy and start burping like crazy. I have tried certain foods and no matter what i eat it still happens, some foods make it worse than others but it still happens regardless. this started when I was about 20. Oh if a Drink Alcohol I start throwing up un controlabily. So thats out. the only way to make this pain stop is to lay down for about 3 hours and the pain subsides gradually. Please someone help me. what is this i have. I want to treat it without pills hopefully.
When I had my galbladder checked they didnt see anything out of the norm, after drinking the bariumBarium enema Barium ingestion Barium sulfate Upper gi and small bowel series, pain is in the same area, under the right and left ribsRib cage pain and very sensative in the center to the touch, i do get nausea half the time, and vomiting calms the symptoms for a short while, and When i know I havent eating awhile the hungery pain turns into a vacuum knawing type pain, very strange painfulPainful menstrual periods sensation. sleeping is the only relief i get. And when i get these attacks i will sleep for 12 to 14 hours.
You may look into post-cholecystectomy syndrome which is just a pre-diagnosis for gallbladder type pain - after it has been removed. A lot of people that have had the GB removed w/o success seem to fall into this boat. I too had my GB removed, due to right upper quadrant abdominal pain, and there was no improvement after it was removed.
My doctors are looking into the sphincter of oddi dysfunction (SOD) for me, but doesn't look promising (as the condition can only be confirmed by a select few medical location throughout the states).
Keep pushing the doctors. They may just keep throwing medications at you, but they have to do something to keep you from having to suffer. Just know that you are not alone!
And remember: that's why the call it *practicing* medicine!
Is the pain in the same area every time or does it jump around?
Any nausea or vomiting (with food)? Which food made it worse?
