Severe stomach pain and nausea 10 mins after eating

Hi all.  I really need some advice.  My mom has been having stomach problems for about the past 5 months.  Whenever she eats - no matter *what* she eats - she has severe stomach pain and nausea about 10 minutes afterwards.  Sometimes it can take up to an hour for the pain to come, but usually its right at 10 minutes.

She has had numerous tests done, including colonoscopies, scans of her stomach and galbladder, and endoscopies from a Gastroenterologist, and blood work and bone tests from an Endocrinologist.  The only thing any of these has turned up is high cholesterol, a condition she was already aware of.

Her symptoms sound galbladder related to me (of course I'm no doctor) - but the Gastroenterologist says the scans of her galbladder are fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  She has lost a significant amount of weight and we are all very concerned about her.  It seems her specialist appointments are months apart, and she just keeps losing weight because she is almost afraid to eat.

Thank you!

Mark

Has anyone else had any experience with something like this?

Thanks for all the replies.  The odd part about all this is she was eating fine until this started, and now *everything* - even drinking things like Slim Fast and Ensure - makes her sick :(

I'm so sorry that your mom is suffering so much.  There is a test that only holistic drs do that might help her.  It's called a Heidelberg Gastrogram (google this).  Only holistic drs to this.  Also, a natural remedy for nausea is ginger.  If she hasn't tried this, to help with her nausea, she should.  Go to the health food store and buy candied ginger.  The only ingredients in it should be dried ginger and sugar.  That's all.  She can also try taking ginger in pill form (get the capsules) if the candied ginger doesn't help.  It's also available at the health food store.  I wish you both all the best of luck.

Sorry to hear about your mom. I too have severe stomach pain and I just wrote about it on here. The only thing I think could help your mom is going on a wheat gluten free diet. It is a diet of no wheat. Meaning she could be alergic to wheat. I am trying to do that myself after suffering for almost 9 years now. I cant say it will work but if she feels like I do it is worth trying. Most things have wheat in them so it wont be easy. Good luck.

One thing I forgot to add:  My sister had to have her galbladder removed, if that helps shed any light.  Thanks!
