I was not feeling well. I was having a bout of severe vertigo that made me very nauseous. when I went to vomit my lower stomach started having the normal contractions with dry heaves but I all of a sudden had a very sharp stabbing pain in the top of my stomach right below the rib cage right under the upside down V. It was very sever, so much so that I had to sit upright and was not able to throw up at all nothing would come up. The pain was only during the attempt of throwing up not before or after. What could cause such a sharp pain ?
