Should I be Concerned????

I am not sure what catagory I should really be under but I will just start with the very beginning of my problem.

About two weeks ago, every so often I would get a piercing sharp pain on the left side of my chest, it would only last about 5-10 seconds and occured maybe 1 - 2 times a day, and some days nothing at all, I have also been extremely tired, feeling faint at times and getting alot of hot flashes, then about a week ago I started to have diarrehia but its black in color and has not stopped for this last week, then to add to everything, about two days ago I started to have burning in my chest and throat and when I have eaten or drank anything I have just wanted to throw it up and the burning seems to feel worse with the foods and liquids. I am only 34 what could really be happening here??????

ayri makes an intelligent post. Sounds like you have some bad heart burn with possibly a hiatel hernia or ulcer. An endoscopy would show most of that, but definatley rule out heart problems with an EKG and stress test at the least.

hi, first, any sharp pain in the chest could mean two things, cardiovascular or acid reflux, you should see your gp and have them test your heart first and foremost to rule out heart disease, this is more critical than acid reflux, if heart disease is ruled out, then i would ask your gp to have you undergo a breathe test for helicobacter-pylori infection, this bug is the prelude to gerd disease, if your positive, then your gp will prescribe antibiotics and ant-acid medication to rid you of the infection, as to your age, theres people who are alot younger than you and suffer your symptoms, so dont stress and see your gp asap, cheers.
