I'm 31 years old, and I guess I've had hemorrhoids for 3 or 4 years. My hemorrhoids seem to be right at the edge of my anus, and dealing with them has become a matter of daily upkeep. I eat a high fiber diet, and drink plenty of water. I always have a bowel movement in the morning, and then after pushing my hemorrhoids back in once in the shower, I dry off and push them back in again while applying Boraginol-A (the Japanese equivalent to Preperation-H). Within the past week I've had up to 2 bowel movements a day, so my hemorrhoids have been particularly sore.
A friend of my father's, a man in his late 50s, just had the banding operation, and he seems quite happy and wishes he had done it earlier.
I don't know much about the surgery. Is it something I should consider at my age? Are there any possibilities of the surgery going wrong and worsening my condition?
