Shoulder pain

I had a Nissan fundiplication in 2008 and my gallbladder removed in 2010.
Recently I have been experiencing excruciating shoulder pain just like the pain you get after stomach surgery from the air they pump into your stomach that refers to your shoulders.
It started on the right side and was agony to breathe in or hiccup and laying on my back was impossible.
It slowly spread to both shoulders and now when I eat I feel like I need to burp as soon as I swallow and the pain in my shoulders gets really bad and as I camt burp the pain in my throat makes me almost panic as I can't get air down or up.
Does anyone know what would be causing this and if it is relates to the Nissan operation and where should I go from here.
My doctor is pretty useless.
The pain is driving me mad and I'm not sure how much more I can take.
