Side effect of gastroparesis

Can gastroparesis make your stool hard? How do I avoid this?
Avatar f tn
Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  Gastroparesis itself can't make your stool hard, but gastroparesis and constipation often go along together.  Most of the time a high-fiber diet is recommend for constipation, but this is not recommended if you have gastroparesis.  I would recommend you talk to your doctor about starting on a laxative for your constipation.
