Sigmoidoscopy

I had a sigmoidoscopy when I was 19 years old which is when they told me that I had a twisted colon, it was the most painful thing I have ever went through, I know that they are probably going to have to do some kind of other tests and I may have to have another one. I wanted to know if anyone knows if it is possible for them to put me out while they do a test like that, they had me on demoral when they did it and my mom still heard me screaming from the waiting room!!

it sounds like they went further than the splenic flexure, and they should have heavily sedated and given you heavy pain meds. Discuss this fact with your doctor, and tell him that you will only do it with enough pain management that you wont be in pain and fear of the procedure.
