Small amounts of blood

I have Compensated cirrhosis of the liver. One of the main symptoms I have is nausea. Last night I had almost dry heaves (only a little) fluid Tinged with bright red streaks of blood.There was not alot of blood just streaks. I did not go to the hospital because it  really made me think that it might be from some sort of irriatation.  Not what I have been concerened with in regards to varices and I don't want to run to the ER everytime something like this happens.I don't want to feel like a idoit because of a little irratation. I remain very nauseous & bloated.Any Ideas?

Hi Gail, I know exactly what you're talking about. I have compensated cirrhosis and last October I got nauseated and threw up tiny streaks of blood. Well, I did go to the ER (it really never does hurt... except in this case where they shoved the nasal tube into my apparently blocked right side sinus - ouch!) but, as you would expect, the blood was nothing more than irritation from the vomiting. What was interesting though was I had a pseudocyst on my pancreas that had 'filled up' to a size where it was pushing on my bile duct that was causing the nausea and my levels to go up a bit. My doctor always told me I could pop in for a blood test anytime if I thought something was awry. Maybe you can to? Let me know how it goes!
