Small intestine absorbing too much food?

Small intestine absorbing too much food?

Is this possible? I have been very dependent on laxies for quite sometime. But before I would only need to take laxatives once a week. If I took them a second time in a week, then the laxies wouldn't have much of an effect. Now, if I do not take them at least every other day, the bottom of my stomach becomes VERY distended and hard. I will take laxies, let them work, then as soon as I eat, it's like my food is piled up in the bottom of my stomach. I read somewhere of a condition similiar to this, but the side effects include diarrhea and I most certainly do not have that.

Is what I'm saying even making any sense?

Your body has become accustomed to the laxatives, and the longer you use them, the more you will have to take, and more fequently.  Your colon is losing it's ability to function without the stimulation of the laxatives, and this isn't good.  Get off the laxatives, eat Activia, fruits and salads.  It will take awhile, and you will have symtoms (symptoms) of constipation, swollen stomach, etc, but stick with it.
