Small intestine stricture,possible hernias?

I was dx wih a small intestine stricture via endoscopy last year. My gastro ordered an abdominal MRI scan, Nov 07. This now shows 2 strictures. He has looked at the scan via computer, but is waiting for the written radiology report before deciding whether I should have resections. I have had Crohn's for 38 yrs, no resections.
Over the last 2 yrs or so I have been having intermitten very sharp pain in my groin - both sides. It happens as I stand up from a chair, get out of bed etc. I haven't mentioned this to my gastro because I thought it was a muscular problem with ageing (aging) - I am 63 yrs old.
However, I am now wondering if this pain is caused by hernias associated with the small bowel strictures. Should I go to see my GP or ask for an urgent consultation with my gastro?
My late twin brother had an inguinal hernia when he was 5 yrs, and another in his mid 40's, both treated surgically.
Do small bowel strictures cause hernia?

Groin pain may be referred from the small bowel. So an obstruction there or another stricture may lead to this picture.
I am not aware of strictures directly leading to hernias.
Obtaining imaging with a CT scan can visualize the small bowel. However, to further evaluate the extent, an endoscopy or enteroscopy may need to be done for better visualization.
An inguinal hernia can be seen on the CT scan. If this is the case, this will need to be treated by a surgeon.
These options can be discussed with your personal physician.
Followup with your personal physician is essential.
