I am 23 yrs old. I have had GERD for as long as I can remember and diverticulosis for awhile and I have had stomach pain on my left side of my stomach for quite sometime now. I went to a GI dr that told me I had to get an upper gi series done.
I had a upper gi with small bowel follow-through this morning. I am in even more pain then when I went in this morning... I told the dr where my pain was and showed him where it was and all he said was that the right side of my stomach could be due to muscle strainStrains and the left side due to my diverticulosis.
All I got out of the upper gi series was that I have GERD I have knows this for a long time but that doesn't help me understand why I am in so much pain everyday. I had a cat scan awhile back and thats where I found out about the diverticulosis but this pain just feels different it hurts everyday non stop. I just want to know what is wrong...
I see the gastroenterologist next Thursday I am hoping he will have some answers for me because right now I feel like I completely wasted my time. Thanks for listening.
