Soft, thin, yellow stool, chronic bouts of diarrhea

I had my first child about 10 months ago and since then have had a change in my bowel movements.  They are soft, yellow, and thin most of the time.  There is occasional superficial blood on the stool as well, but I just thought that was most likely secondary to hemorroids (hemorrhoids).  The past months things have escalated.  I have had three severe bouts of diarrhea lasting several days and sometimes accompanied by fever, chills, and muscle aches.  My PCP said its just a chronic case of gastroenteritis.  My family did have a short course of these symptoms as well but have been okay since.  I have also noticed that i have abdominal pain and cramping and bloating.  I also have pain under my ribs after defecating.  My back has also been hurting during these episodes.  My recent bloodwork did suggest an infection.  My neutrophils were at 87 and my lymphocytes were at 7.  These episodes come on so quickly and are so inconsistent.  I went to the restroom 16 times yesterday.  It is impeding my life and causing me to miss work.  I have read up of IBS after infection, glutin intolerance, and IBD conditions.  I am at a loss.  Just wondering if my symptoms are consistent with any condition and how to get relief.  Thanks.
