Some People have stools that always float

Because my stools have always floated (6years to 67years old), I have either always had the same problem, or floating might be normal for some humans.  The only time that my stools have sunk was after taking some antibiotics for a kidney stone problem.  About four months after the medication, the floating returned

Stool floats when there's excessive fat in it. You can have a "stool fat test". Reason for fats in stool is fat malabsorption, which may be due to blockage of bile flow (usually bile stone in the bile duct), pancreatic disease with lack of pancreatic enzymes which digest fat, or small intestinal disease...but...first of all, you should have stool fat test.

Would you say the stool is pale, whitish, sticks to the toilet?

I have gastroparesis and my stools are always very hard and many will float. I also notice a lot of mucous. I stay away from fatty foods, I don't consume any animal products including butter, eggs, dairy, etc. My stomach bloats like crazy after the smallest meal, such as some lentil soup. I can't even eat bread anymore because it just takes forever to digest. I was always told that it's not a good thing when you have large hard stool that floats, and I'm getting concerned because I can literally feel the food trying to move. Especially on my left side of my abdomen. I get like this charlie horse type of pain that will make me stop everything and scream out loud. I'm wondering if this is where a "bad section "of bowel is or what. Either way, I have to get to my GI anyways because I'm also vomiting everytime i have to have a BM. I got really sick this am because I hadn't had a BM in about 5 days..I lose track sometimes because it’s not uncommon for me to go up to 2 weeks w/o one, but usually by then, the back up ends up putting me in the hospital.
